6 Weeks ~ 15 Months
A nurturing space where our youngest learners are encouraged to grow at their own pace. We intentionally keep children in our infant community until they're ready for toddlerhood—steadier on their feet, transitioning away from bottles, settling into one nap, and eager for new adventures.
We believe babies learn best through freedom of movement, so you won't find walkers or sit-me-ups here. Instead, children have safe, open spaces to roll, crawl, and climb. With daily access to our baby deck, infants enjoy fresh air, experience the changing seasons, watch squirrels and birds, and begin building a lifelong connection to nature. Each day is rooted in responsive care and joyful discovery.
Sprouts
13 Months ~ 3 Years
Where curious toddlers begin making sense of the world around them from their own perspective. Through gentle guidance, they begin to practice sharing space, taking turns, and using simple language to express their needs, feelings, and ideas.
With plenty of time outdoors, open-ended materials, and child-led experiences, our Sprouts build independence and confidence.
Our team supports children as they learn words, helping them grow in self-regulation, connection, and a sense of belonging while making the transition from parallel play to cooperative imagination.
Buds
2.5 Years ~ 4 Years
A place where imagination flourishes. This stage is filled with incredible milestones. As language and independence rapidly develop, children begin their potty training journey, gain confidence in routines, and navigate the big emotions that come with growing up.
Through imaginative play, gentle teacher guidance, and collaborative experiences, children learn to share ideas, solve problems together, and build the emotional regulation and advocacy skills needed to thrive in community.
With plenty of time outdoors, open-ended materials, imaginative play, and child-led exploration, our Buds spend their days creating, pretending, wondering, and discovering. These experiences lay the foundation for empathy, resilience, confidence, and the curiosity they’ll expand on as they Blossom.
Blossoms
4 Years ~ Kindergarten
A vibrant community where children’s ideas take center stage. As confident communicators and capable learners, they investigate meaningful questions, engage in collaborative projects, and participate in rich conversations that deepen their understanding of the world. Teachers serve as partners in learning, carefully observing children’s interests and extending them through purposeful, hands-on investigations.
Kindergarten readiness in Blossoms is about far more than academics. It is built through confidence, resilience, creativity, problem-solving, and a genuine love of learning. Surrounded by nature, meaningful relationships, and endless opportunities for exploration, children leave the HFCDC community prepared not only for school, but for life.
Blooms
Kindergarten
A unique kindergarten experience that preserves the wonder of childhood while preparing children for lifelong learning. Blending academic growth and milestones with child-led exploration, nature, and meaningful relationships, children are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, create, and collaborate every day.
Rather than rushing childhood, we believe children thrive when they have time to wonder, move, explore, and learn through authentic experiences. Our Reggio-inspired approach nurtures capable, confident learners who leave kindergarten with strong academic foundations, curiosity, resilience, and a lasting desire for discovery.
Studio
All Ages
The laboratory of learning. A space where creativity, curiosity, and discovery come to life. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the Studio extends each classroom by providing children with opportunities to explore materials, ideas, and creative expression.
Guided by our Studio teacher, it’s about the process. Children engage in weekly hands-on invitations using loose parts, natural elements, art mediums, and collaborative projects that deepen classroom learning.
The studio space is a place where children’s thinking is celebrated, their ideas are documented, and their creativity is honored—reminding us that there are a hundred ways for children to learn, communicate, and express themselves.
Kitchen
All Ages
The heart of our school isn’t just our classrooms—it’s also our kitchen. Each day, nutritious, home-style meals and snacks are thoughtfully prepared to nourish growing bodies and bring the warmth of home into our school.
Children are invited to participate in age-appropriate cooking experiences, helping prepare morning breakfasts, explore new foods, and build lifelong skills and confidence. Our family-style meals bring children of different ages together, creating opportunities to practice conversation, independence, and kindness.
Around our tables, children don’t just share food—they share stories, friendship, and the joy of being part of a caring community.
Seeds Outside
6 Weeks ~ 15 Months
The Seeds outside area is a safe space for our littles to explore new textures, sights and sounds.
Sprouts Outside
13 Months ~ 3 Years
Fully equipped with a slide hill, a giant sandbox, a chalk wall, hammock swings and a tricycle riding loop. This space is shady all day and seriously fun.
Buds, Blossoms & Blooms Outside
3 Years ~ Kindergarten
This space is made for creative fun. A construction corner, garden boat, vegetable garden, tire tower, climbing wall, tire swing, climbing tree, and lots of shady room to run are just some of the things our Buds, Blossoms and Blooms love about this play space.
